Electro (
Electro radio stations play a style of electronic music commonly featuring TR-808 drum machines, Moog synthesizers and funk samples. Early pioneers of Electro music include Miles Davis, George Clinton and Stevie Wonder - artists who experimented with electronic instruments from the late 60s onwards. Electro music was taken on and developed further through the 70s and 80s by bands such as Kraftwerk, Gary Numan, the Human League and Depeche Mode. Electro music features mechanistic drum patterns and makes extensive use of analogue synthesizers for basslines, pads and sound effects. Popular artists on Electro online radio stations today include Drexciya, VNV Nation and DMX Krew.
